The ArtJerusalem Program will give you artistic training and provide you with continuous inspiration to create. Choose courses from diverse areas including painting, sculpture, jewelry and fashion, photography, and visual communications. You’ll also explore Israel’s rich and vibrant culture through field trips, social activities, and courses on Hebrew language, Israel, and the Middle East. This joint initiative of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design Jerusalem and Hebrew University’s Rothberg International School (RIS) gives you the benefits of two renowned institutions in one program.
Explore the world of art and design as an ArtJerusalem student through introductory and advanced courses taught by artists and professionals at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design Jerusalem. You’ll also take courses at HebrewU’s RIS in areas such as Jewish, Israel, and Middle East studies; international relations; human rights; behavioral sciences; and Hebrew- and Arabic-language studies to enrich your art.

Art Studies
If you wish to explore the world of art and design, you will be able to take courses provided by Bezalel’s Fine Arts Department in areas such as etching, painting, drawing, performance, sculpture, photography, and installation. If you have advanced artistic training, you may request to study in one of the following Bezalel art departments:
To be eligible for advanced training, you must submit a portfolio of your work (10-15 pieces) on a hard-copy CD/DVD.
Academic Studies
At Hebrew University’s RIS, you can take courses in diverse areas such as Jewish, Israel, and Middle East studies; psychology; economics; Modern Hebrew; Arabic; and more. View the HebrewU course catalog and faculty list.
You’ll be invited to participate in a wide array of trips, tours, and activities offered by the Office of Student Life, including a tour of the Old City, a trip to the Dead Sea, and festivals that are held throughout the year. Build your own unique impressions and memories of Jerusalem and Israel. You’ll live on the Mount Scopus Campus with other international and Israeli students, giving you a chance to form new friendships and get involved in campus and Israeli life. Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships, based on demonstrated need or merit, are available. To apply, follow the procedure required by your local office.
The program is open to you if you are a high school graduate or current university or college undergraduate, art student. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (B) or equivalent is required. If you are a graduate student, please check credit transferability with your home institution.
English Language Requirement
If you are from a non-English-speaking country and have not previously studied at an institution of higher education where the language of instruction is English, you are required to take an English proficiency test. A minimum TOEFL score of 89 on the internet-based test is required. The school code for TOEFL is 0206. Equivalent Cambridge or IELTS scores are also acceptable.
