RIS reserves the right to change fees at any time. 

Tuition & Housing

All fees are listed in US Dollars (US$), unless otherwise noted, and are in effect only for the 2024-25 academic year.

    • Application Fee (non-refundable): Tourists: $ 120, Israeli Citizens: NIS 430 – per academic year.
    • Late Payment Fee: $150 for payments received after the program payment deadline.
    • Israeli Citizen – To qualify, a student must present an Israeli Identity Card (Teudat Zehut).
    • Payment of a deposit of $1,500 by the date indicated in the billing letter. 

The master’s degree can only be conferred after full tuition is paid.

Early admissions

  • Apply: November 1 – December 31, 2023
  • Application fee: $120
  • First tuition payment of $1,500 by: January 31, 2024
  • Remaining tuition payment by: March 31, 2024
  • Early admissions scholarship: $1,000 (for students who apply and pay tuition by the above deadlines).
  • Additional scholarship for students who pay tuition in full by January 31, 2024: $500 (total of $1,500 scholarship)

Regular admissions

  • Application fee: $120
  • First tuition payment of $1,500 by: May 1, 2024
  • Remaining tuition payment by: July 1, 2024
  • Early tuition payment scholarship for students who pay tuition in full by May 1, 2024: $250

Students are eligible to receive 5 free hard copies of their transcripts for up to six months from the end of the program. Students who order five transcripts or more on the same transcript request form are charged US$15 per transcript for the first four copies ordered and then US$5 for each additional transcript on the same order. Thus, for example, 5 transcripts would cost US$65 and 10 transcripts US$90.

Summer/Winter Hebrew Language Programs, Foundations of Literary Arabic Program, and Part-Time Students:

Program Tuition

Withdrawal from the program for any reason is only possible by filling out the Notice of Withdrawal form. This form must be approved and signed by the department. Students who withdraw prior to the beginning of the academic year/semester are charged a $250 withdrawal fee and for any points they may have utilized for activities.

Cancellation Policy

Applicants who complete their tuition payment and then decide to cancel their enrollment in the program will receive a full refund, but will be charged a withdrawal fee, as follows:

  • Cancellation by June 1, 2024: $250 withdrawal fee
  • Cancellation by August 1, 2024: $500 withdrawal fee
  • Cancellation by October 10, 2024: $750 withdrawal fee

M.A. Extended Year, Part-time and VRF students are not entitled to a refund under any circumstances.

Housing Refunds

Students who have accepted a room key and/or have moved personal possessions into a room and then wish to vacate University housing must write an e-mail to the RIS Housing coordinator – rishousing@savion.huji.ac.il.

Students who withdraw from an Ulpan or Summer Course and vacate University housing within the first three days of classes are issued a refund, provided they present an official clearance from the Housing Office confirming their departure. Refunds are processed with a deduction for the days the student has already occupied the room at a rate of $30 per day.

Students who vacate their rooms after the first three days from the beginning of Pre Semester Program or Summer Ulpan or Summer Course, are not issued a refund. 

Semester/year students who cancel their housing reservation or vacate their room by October 27, 2024 will be charged $750.

Students who vacate the University housing between October 28, 2024 and the end of the autumn semester (February 2, 2025) are charged for the entire month in which they vacate their rooms plus one additional month of rent. 

After the end of the autumn semester, no refund is available for the balance of the academic year. 

Once winter/spring semester RIS students occupy a room, no housing fee refunds are issued.
