Our international BA degree program offers you the flexibility to pursue an education that is unique to you. By choosing two out of three fields of specialization, you’ll design a double-major degree that suits your particular interests and academic pursuits. Be it liberal arts, business administration, or English, you’ll determine the combination that’s best for you. Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships, based on demonstrated need or merit, are available. To apply, follow the procedure required by your local office.
Throughout your degree, you’ll have the opportunity to build your own unique impressions and memories of Jerusalem and Israel. You’ll participate in a wide array of trips, tours, and activities offered by our Office of Student Life, including a tour of the Old City, a trip to the Dead Sea, and year-round festivals.
As a BA student, you’ll enjoy free membership and access to Jerusalem’s most advanced sports facility, the Lerner Sports Center, located adjacent to campus and in close proximity to your dormitory housing. Facilities include an indoor pool, basketball and tennis courts, fitness and aerobics centers, and more.
Housing on the Mount Scopus campus is available for you as an international BA student. Living with other international and Israeli students will give you the opportunity to make new friends from across the globe and get involved in campus life. A team of multilingual Israeli students, called madrichim, will be here to help you adjust to your new surroundings, give you tips on what to do in your spare time, and offer you 24/7 support right through to the completion of your degree.

Internships
As a full-time BA student at HUJI, you’ll have the option to complete a semester- or year-long internship (non-accredited) alongside your degree studies. You’ll choose from a wide range of internship placements facilitated in collaboration with partner institutions, organizations, and businesses across Jerusalem. Through a hands-on, supervised internship in the field of your choice, you’ll gain real-world work exposure and hands-on experience that will set you apart once you graduate.
Career Services
In addition, Hebrew University’s Center for Career Services offers BA students career support, guidance, and resources throughout their studies. You’ll benefit from one-on-one advising, training workshops, and networking opportunities designed to help you cultivate the skills and the confidence to pursue your career goals. While your internship will propel you forward professionally, be sure to seek out HUJI’s Center for Career Services and take advantage of all it has to offer in advancing you along your personal career journey.
Students who are Olim Hadashim (new immigrants in Israel) have the option to start their first year in the international BA program, study Hebrew and switch to the program taught in Hebrew upon completion of proficiency requirement. The goal is to empower students to transition into the Hebrew courses of the program.

Admissions Criteria
Admissions to our international BA degree programs are determined by committee.
There are two admissions tracks to the BA Degrees:
Direct Admission: Applicants to this track must submit all application materials, including standardized test scores (SAT or ACT). Please note that grades received in AP courses may be considered in place of the SAT/ACT scores. Students admitted through direct admission will complete their degree in 3 years.
Test-Optional: Applicants to this track must submit all application materials but are not required to provide standardized test scores. Students admitted through the test-optional track will be offered conditional acceptance to the BA program and will need to complete an additional year of study in our first-year study abroad program, achieving an average of 80. Students admitted via the test-optional track will complete their degree in 4 years.
As part of your application, you will be asked to submit an official transcript, and scores for any advanced placement (AP) courses or matriculation exams you may have completed.
Additional admissions requirements may include:
- Business Track: Prerequisite advanced math exam or preparatory courses (Algebra II, calculus A/B or high school calculus)
- English Track: Writing workshop (taken remotely, prior to the start of the program) for students from non-English speaking countries

Application
Once you determine the international BA track of your choice, you’ll begin your admissions process by submitting your application through our online portal.
As part of your online application, you’ll be required to pay an application fee and upload the following documents through the portal (or, alternately, submit them via postal mail as detailed below):
- One passport-size photo
- Israeli identity card (if applicable) in the form of a scan of the inside page.
- High school diploma/GED (for questions regarding acceptable high school matriculation exams please contact ronitla@savion.huji.ac.il). All applicants are required to submit a copy of their diploma following graduation and prior to commencing their studies at Hebrew University.
- Official transcripts, either originals or notarized copies, must be sent directly from your high school. Note that all applicants are required to resubmit an updated copy of their final transcripts following graduation and prior to commencing their studies at Hebrew University.
- Official SAT/ACT/Psychometric test scores (optional) (RIS school code for SAT 0859 and RIS school code for ACT 5229 )
- Official TOEFL scores of 80 or above on the internet-based test (RIS school code: 0206). Applicants who graduated from a high school whose language of instruction is English are exempt from this requirement. For further information, visit the TOEFL website.
- Two confidential letters of recommendation from teachers who have first-hand knowledge of your academic abilities. If submitted separately from the online application, you must print two copies of the recommendation form and have them submitted directly by the recommenders in sealed envelopes.
- Statement of purpose in the form of a 300-500-word essay in English, responding to one of the following 3 questions:
- Why do you wish to earn your BA degree abroad?
- What are the three most important things you hope to gain from your experience in Israel?
- Describe a recent experience, achievement, or dilemma that was profoundly meaningful to you and impacted your life. Elaborate on how it affected you.
- Letter of parental consent (for applicants who are under 18 years of age at time of application)
- Medical certificate completed and signed by your physician. The medical form should be downloaded during your online application process, and must be submitted following acceptance to the program and prior to your arrival.
