Placement Exam B'hinat Miyun
The Placement Exam is designed to assess Hebrew proficiency and is used to place students in the appropriate class according to their level.

Exam Part 1 (Download): Those who do not know any Hebrew may submit the first page only. All others should submit all four pages of part 1 and answer as much as they can.
Exam Part 2 (Downolad): Those who completed part 1 should proceed part 2 and circle their answers on the answer sheet. When submitting the exam, students should only send the four pages of the first part.
Complete the exam on your own.
Do not use a dictionary.
Do not guess.
Allow maximum 1 hour.

The exam must be taken by all candidates to RIS programs and should be submitted with the application. Candidates for degree studies who apply through the Hebrew University Office of Overseas Students Admissions are usually also required to take this exam.
Applicants in Israel and those who did not take the exam abroad may be tested in Jerusalem at the Rothberg International School, Boyar Bldg., Rooms 446-447, Sunday-Thursday, 9:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. (no need to register in advance).

Proficiency/Level Exam B'hinat Rama
Students in Hebrew language courses on levels Aleph-Heh usually take this exam upon completion of their course, at the end of an ulpan or semester; all others must register for it in advance. The exam scores are used to determine the Hebrew level of students for the following semester and/or for admission to degree studies.
Exemption Exam B'hinat P'tor
Students in Hebrew language courses on level Vav usually take this exam upon completion of their course, at the end of an ulpan or semester. Those who reached the exemption level on their Placement Exam may also take the Exemption Exam, but must register for it in advance. All other students who need to take the exam must register in advance, as well.
Exam Dates & Registration
Students who take either the Level or P'tor exams immediately at the end of their Hebrew course do not need to register separately for these exams. All others must register for them in advance!
