Merit Scholarships

RIS Merit Scholarships

A limited number of scholarships are being offered to highly qualified international candidates who wish to study at the Rothberg International School.

The Graduate Merit Scholarship is a competitive, merit-based scholarship for students admitted to international degree programs in the Division of Graduate Studies at the Rothberg International School.

The Scholarship covers the tuition fee for the stated duration of the program.


International graduate students accepted to the following degree programs may apply:

  • The Bible and the Ancient Near East
  • Jewish Studies 
  • Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies
  • Israel Studies
  • Nonprofit Management and Leadership
  • MBA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation

To be considered, candidates must be at least in their final year of studies in an undergraduate degree program and have a minimum grade -point average (GPA) of 3.8 or the equivalent.

Conditions of Scholarship:

Scholarship recipients enrolled in a 2-year program must maintain a high academic standard during their first year of studies in order to receive the award for the second year of studies.

Applicants must complete the Merit Scholarship application form. 


In addition, applicants must submit a complete application to the degree program of their choice through the online application system .

Applications for the Merit Scholarship who do not have a corresponding application to an eligible degree program will not be considered.

Applications are reviewed by a selection committee based in Jerusalem. Applicants will be notified of the committee's decision by e-mail in May from the director of the Division of Graduate Studies of the Rothberg International School.
