Please read the following carefully and abide by the regulations set forth in order to avoid any unnecessary problems.
VACATING THE DORMITORIES
All students in the Graduate Division must vacate the dorms by Sunday, February 8, 2015. Extended stays in the dorms for a fee of $30 per day must be coordinated with Tuition and Housing Coordinator Linda Lipstein in Boyar 501/502.
Dorm check-out: The housing office is open from 08:30-15:00. Schedule a room inspection with the dorm supervisor in Building 12 of the Student Village and return the room key. Be sure to return the key to the dorm supervisor. Make sure you receive a departure form the dorm supervisor which then must be submitted to Tuition and Housing Coordinator Linda Lipstein in Boyar 501/502. You will receive a clearance which you must bring with you to request transcripts.
Health insurance expires on Sunday, February 8, 2015. Students staying in Israel beyond this date may extend their
insurance at the rate of $1.70 per day. Please arrange payment in Boyar room 501/502.
Students should submit the following clearances to the Division of Graduate Studies:
Students should bring the clearance forms to the Division of Graduate Studies office and review the students' courses and grades with a staff member to ensure that the information is correct.
Students who are already abroad are requested to review their course enrollment online and update us of any errors and of any courses they wish to audit or withdraw.
Transcripts are not automatically forwarded to universities without a formal request. All students who wish to have an official record of their grades should follow the instructions on the Transcript Request page of the Rothberg International School website (Students should request transcripts once all grades are received. It is the responsibility of the student to follow-up with their professors regarding unreported grades.
Note: students that do not follow check-out procedures may experience a delay in receiving their transcripts.
Please ascertain that all financial matters are cleared up. Students with debts to the Hebrew University will not be issued transcripts.
STUDENTS WHO DO NOT OFFICIALLY CHECK OUT OF THE PROGRAM WILL BE CHARGED A DELINQUENT FEE OF $20 WHEN REQUESTING TRANSCRIPTS AT ANY FUTURE DATE.
Summer Ulpan grades are recorded in numbers or PASS depending upon the student's request. Please verify this at the time you check your records in B-520. Grades for all other courses will be recorded in numbers and an explanation will be included with the transcript.
There is no grade assignment of "incomplete". Students who have not turned in assignments or done mid-term make-up assignments with the teacher's permission by the time the final grades are submitted (two weeks after the final exam), will receive a "0" for the missing assignment which will, in turn, be calculated into the final grade.
Students who have not officially withdrawn from a particular course and simply do not sit for a final exam, or submit a final paper, will receive a "WF" (withdrawal with failure) for the course.
Students in the Division of Graduate Studies are entitled to one grade of “Active Participation” (Audit) each semester. This may be for a graduate seminar, or a course in the regular faculties of the Hebrew University. “Active Participation” will not be given for undergraduate (One Year Program) courses, language courses, or tutorials. Students who wish to receive a grade of “Active Participation” should request a form in the Graduate Office and return it to the office with the instructor’s signature.
APPEALING A GRADE
Appeals for grade changes for courses given through the Rothberg International School will only be considered within three months of the conclusion of the semester. All grade changes must be approved by the Academic Director of the program.
