| Graduate Program for Non-Degree Students |
Who is this program for?
The Graduate program is designed to meet the special needs of qualified graduate students from abroad who wish to spend a year or a semester at the Hebrew University, whether they are master's degree or Ph.D. candidates or recent college graduates who have not yet commenced a program of graduate study.
Students are offered seminars and research tutorials designed to deepen their knowledge in their chosen fields of interest. Courses are offered in the fields of Jewish Studies, Religious Studies, Bible studies and Archaeology, Middle Eastern Studies, Israel Studies, Nonprofit Management and Languages.
Duration of Studies
All Visiting Students, Visiting Graduates and Research Students are in general expected to study for a full academic year but may opt to enroll for one semester only.

Course Load
Full-time Status: Students are encouraged to study Modern Hebrew intensively and are offered graduate and undergraduate course options, seminars, and research tutorials designed to deepen their knowledge in their chosen field.
Part-time Status: Students coming for the academic year may request to study part-time, that is they may enroll in up to four semester courses. Note that a year-long course (i.e. a course running over two semesters) is equal to two semester courses.
Students studying for only one semester may request to study part-time, that is they may enroll in up to two semester courses.
Completion of Studies
A full transcript will be provided to the student, upon completion of studies, in order to facilitate the transfer of credit to the student's home university. Students who decide to pursue a graduate degree at the Hebrew University at the Rothberg International School, the faculties of Humanities or Social Sciences, or the School of Social Work and Social Welfare may use this year to improve their Hebrew and to fulfill certain degree requirements.
Admission Requirements
Qualified students with a bachelor's degree from accredited institutions of higher education are eligible for admission to the program. Admission is competitive and based on transcripts and letters of recommendation. Students should have at least a 3.2 ("B") grade-point average.
Knowledge of English: Candidates who did not previously study at an educational institution where the language of instruction is English must submit official TOEFL scores or the equivalent. The minimum TOEFL score required is 573 on the paper-based test, 230 on the computer-based test or 89 on the Internet-based test.

This special semester program, taught in Spanish, explores the relationship between Israel and Latin America. The program provides tools for understanding the relations between the two regions from comprehensive, interdisciplinary perspectives, including religious issues, migratory movements, cultural contacts, mutual commerce and trade, current literary trends, political participation of minorities, and social inclusion and exclusion.

The areas covered by the program are precisely those for which the Hebrew University has acquired a reputation for excellence, and where Israel and Jerusalem provide a natural environment for advanced academic work: Biblical and Jewish Studies, Religion, Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies, Jewish Education, Israeli Society and Politics, and Community Leadership and Philanthropy Studies. Language instruction is offered in Modern Hebrew, Biblical Hebrew, Akkadian, Biblical Aramaic, Literary Arabic, Colloquial Arabic and Greek.
